The Story so far...
-----------------------------------------
At the beginning of the episode, upon arrival at the registration desk, Lynn and the other girls were rather put off by how the race officials, along with the other participants, looked at them with fear and distrust. Just as one of the other girls in Hakuoh's team was about to ask another group of girls, Chiaki stops them in time. Managing to pull them to a nearby cafe, Chiaki reveals to the other girls about how six years ago, there was a major accident in the race that was linked back to Hakuoh. Lynn then reveals how as a junior high student, she was asked by some upperclassmen to alter the race due to them being bored with the current course, much to the shock of the other girls. Meanwhile, at the headquarters of the Nebula Cup organizers, Marika was trying to ask the chairwoman to borrow a dinghy, who then gives Marika an absentminded go-ahead. The chairwoman would then be surprised when another employee informs her of a pirate using one of their dinghies. As the girls prepare for the race, Marika and Kane work on preparing a dinghy so that Marika can work security detail on location, as the Bentenmaru is too big to be of any use. Towards the end of the half, Gruier, who was chosen to hold the starter's pistol, pulls the trigger, signaling the start of the race.

In the second half, the race gets underway, with Marika monitoring the situation. However, she gets into a bit of trouble as the Chairwoman, in her own dinghy, starts chasing Marika around, believing that Marika was starting to stir up trouble. At that moment, everyone starts having trouble as EM waves from a solar flare start to disrupt the electronics of every system within the area. As the electronics return to normal, however, Marika finds a gunship flying beside them, which then fires at the dinghies present. Finding out that the gunship was after her, Marika starts to skillfully pilot her dinghy to draw away the gunship from the race. The chairwoman, realizing that Marika was not a troublemaker, goes in to help lure the gunship away, only for her dinghy to get shot down instead. At that same instant, the Bentenmaru, risking damage to their own systems due to their ship ill-equipped to fly in an atmospheric setting, swoops in to rescue Marika. Unfortunately, due to the atmosphere, Schnitzer and Coorie tell Marika that they could not use the ships' cannons. However, they do agree upon using the sonic cannon. With some aid from Ai-chan's knowledge of the wind, the Bentenmaru position themselves to use the sonic cannon to take down the gunship, but not after the downed gunship uses an EM wave to disable Ai-chan's electronics. However, Ai-chan reveals that she is able to navigate using the stars, allowing her to remain in the race. With a job well done, Marika and the Bentenmaru return to space to monitor from above. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Chiaki won the competition, and Ai-chan returns with good news about the race.

Impressions:
---------------------------------------
This episode is, in my opinion, one of the best in the series, it has a mix of pulse pounding action, as evidenced by Marika's skillful evasion of a gunship in a small dinghy, as well as humor, as provided by Lynn, and her revelation of not knowing about the incident she had caused, as well as her cool response to it. For the most part, this episode is more centered toward Ai Hoshimiya as well, as crucial moments have been about her, rather than Marika. Overall, this is an entertaining episode, and I found myself laughing at some of the humorous moments of the episode. Where will Marika fly to next? Find out next week. Same Marika time. Same Marika channel.
