The Story So Far...
---------------------------------------
In the first half of the episode, the pirate ship Silver Fox is introduced, and is shown to be defeated by a mysterious new ship that emerges from an FTL jump. The scene shifts to the restaurant, where Marika, Kane, Misa, and Schnitzer talk about the ship, which is said to be a pirate hunter, as well as the possibility that the Bentenmaru may be targeted. In addition to the Pirate hunter issue, Marika also brings up the fact that she has final exams at Hakuoh, and that their Pirating license is set to expire in twenty days. To deal with the problems they face, Marika hoped to perform a pirating job before her exams, and proposes a trick to deal with the problems. On the way home, Marika and Misa talk about her idea, and of how Ririka has been home less often. Upon being dropped home by Misa, Marika could only smile as she looks at the pot of Pot-au-feu left for her, and decides that she should cook dinner too. At the Serenity mansion, Gruier gets word of the pirate hunters from her personal bodyguard, and looks out the window as she starts to worry for Marika. The next day, Marika talks to Show from the insurance union about her status at school, as well as the plan she has proposed. Upon hanging up, Marika is immediately greeted by the now-ex president of the Yacht club, Lynn, revealing that Marika herself has become the new Yacht Club president through a consensus. Though she objects to it, the rest of the club, including Lynn, tell her that she's stuck with it. Towards the halfway point, Lynn also expresses privately her worry over the pirate hunters, while Marika receives a signal from her pocketwatch about the start of her plan.

In the second half, Marika rides a shuttle with Kane back to the Bentenmaru, where the two discuss what Marika should do after graduation. Upon boarding the ship, The crew carrries out their plan, which involves escorting the Pirate ship Big Catch. Making contact with the captain of Big Catch, Marika and the crew learn that the captain of the Big Catch is really less than thrilled with the idea. It is also revealed that the captain is extremely confident with the capabilities of the ship he rides on, while Marika and the Bentenmaru carry out their job as usual. However, when the mysterious ship emerges from the FTL jump, both the Big Catch and the Bentenmaru find themselves embroiled in electronic warfare, while the mysterious ship starts firing at the Big Catch and its escorts. Despite their best efforts, however, the Big Catch ultimately succumbs, and Marika ultimately fails a mission. The surprises don't end for the Bentenmaru, however, as yet another mysterious ship emerges from a FTL Jump, this time with a mysterious pirate riding out on the hull.

Impressions:
---------------------------------
By far, this episode harkens yet another serious arc, and it seems that this time, Marika and the crew will become involved in a real and dangerous fight since selecting Marika as their new captain. Mysteries are abound, ranging from the ship that has been able to take down a myriad of strong pirate ships, to the mysterious pirate, who may end up being someone the entire Bentenmaru crew knows. Overall, this is an exciting and serious episode, and a good leadoff to the final arc that (possibly) leads to the coda of the episode. What can the Bentenmaru crew expect from the new Pirate? Find out next week. Same Marika time, Same Marika channel.
